House-sitting for some friends, so what do I do now that I have TV for the first time since our mini-moon? The same thing I did on our mini-moon– I drew Bernie. This one turned out much better than the last, not being done on hotel stationary…

Another sketch cover currently on eBay.
Went in big on the Star Wars sketch covers when they came out so I’ll be posting these till the end of time…
And finally, for today’s Sketch of the Day. here is the top panel of this Perfect Storm page with the figures penciled and the backgrounds partially inked. Why ink just the backgrounds you ask? Well, I’m still not 100% sure how I want to handle the figures, so I’m going to save those for later.
And today we are back to the children’s book illustrations! Oddly enough, I’m quite happy with this one, if only because of the old car salesman’s face. Since I never intended to draw children’s books I never really developed a style to do them in, so all of my work on these has been trial and error. This was the first one where I sort of nailed what i wanted in the first pass… On the guys face that is. The reason this is going up at 6pm is because I struggled with everything else!!!

Today’s Sketch of the Day is the first art for a new Perfect Storm story (Don’t let the DC bullet in the corner fool ya, I just have a ton of old DC paper!). Sadly, this li’l bit of work represents my entire evening last night– Was up until 3:30 working, and that was after not sleeping the night before for a still completely unknown reason.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and Mother’s Day! Basically had the weekend off, but got back to work this morning on this li’l guy, an illustration for the new children’s book I am working on! This week I will have a few more shots of this guy, but I’ve also got a picture in my head I need to get out so that might be worked in here somewhere too.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of Rambo coming to live with me and Megan, so of course today’s sketch has to be a li’l cartoon doodle of him!!!
Just heard that today is National Cartoonist Day, so in honor of that event, here is my attempt at a Bruce Timm style Perfect Storm!
Rather like how this quick li’l doodle, and how the Batgirl sketch cover I did a while ago (which I will re-post below) came out so I think I am going to putz around with this a bit more 😀 We’ll see if it winds up being anything…
